They are pretty charming and fascinating for a home aquarium. Though they have a massive tint range, they have few features of chromatic adaptation. They change their colors according to the environment.

They also alter the hues when they are frightened and nervous. Earlier, people thought that they change their color in reaction to anxiety and stress. However, they might have chameleon ability does appear to do so.

They turn their co loo r into green, orange, brown, and others while mating. They also alter the tint when the aquarium has a dark substrate. It is an amusing feature and, it is very noticeable in babaulti shrimp.

During the mating session, they show their mates that they are robust and healthy fish because they need excessive metabolic power to do that. Most young babaulti shrimp is green in color because they have a sunny orange shade.

This vivid hue makes them the ultimate alternative to the fish kind of green Neocaridina shrimp. Their color changes vary from brownish to cheerful orange and greenish to stunning green.

The most appropriate plants for babaulti shrimp are floating riccia and driftwood that are moss-covered. This aquarium setup is the nest for their molting process and fry also. A tank size up to 5 gallons is sufficient for them.
