It is available in different stores in ready-made form. You can buy it from the sores in the prepackaged form, and these available in full-sized sheets.

You can cut it into a small size for your aquarium fish so that they can readily get the food and ingest it without any hurdles.

The size of these veggies sheets is approximately is 10 to 8 inches. Green color seaweed preferable because it dissolves slowly in the water, which prevents the aquarium water turbidity. 

When you start to feed the seaweed first time to your fish and other aquarium pet, you have to remember some points because they are afraid of it commonly.

These are not their routine diet, so the first time, it is difficult for them to find out either it is food or something else because it can float on the water surface.

Using full sheet Nori seaweed

You cut the long strips of the nori sheets. You can give these strips in different forms, like rolling them into the tube shape or hang with the clip at the aquarium corner where fish can easily catch it. 

Cut the long strip into the piece, and put it into your aquarium use some heavy or another kind of stone so that the seaweed sinks into the aquarium bottom. 

You can cut or chop it into small pieces and mix it with other homemade fish foods. You can also give it in microform by cutting and slightly rub it with fingers for re-hydrate purposes so that these veggies become soften then release it into the water.

Stir fry

You can give it to your pet fish in the stir fry form. It makes the food a little soft and smooth so that it is readily available for them.

Dried seaweed

Dried seaweed is best for them because, in this form, it is free from mold growth. You pack it in an air-tight container and protect it from moisture.

You can also give it in another recipe, such as add some liquids supplements on the dry seaweed to increase their nutritional value. Before feeding the fish, you have to soak it.  

Raw form

The raw form is also the best source for your fish health. You give with some recipe, like put some garlic on the seaweed enhances the taste make the fish attractive toward it.

How much and how often can a fish eat seaweed?

When you buy the seaweed either in the sheets form or the smaller pieces, you take some precautions or make some consideration while using it. 

First, you do not assume from your aquarium fish to eat the seaweed immediately. They almost reject it in their first attempt because it is entirely natural for them to neglect the food items that are not habitual.

You give them enough time so that they accustom to it. You can almost give them one week for it, and then they do not eat it indicates that it is not enough for them.

Second, you do not throw the sheet directly into the fish tank. First, cut it into small pieces or in thin strips form and then roll in the cylindrical shape, which helps to eat with ease and digest it. Some aquarists use more than one clip so that the competition for the food reduces.

You can give the red one and the green one in a gap. Like, give the red seaweed for one day and the green for the next day. You cannot feed them daily in their diet. You give it to your fish after 2 to 3 days for 2 to 3 hours approximately.

Overfeeding

Avoid using the seaweed in the excess form can cause overfeeding. It also influences the water quality of the fish tank. Remove the uneaten pieces from the aquarium after a short period. Only put that amount which can consume in a short time.

Seaweed is an excellent source to develop the food chain. It makes the food by the photosynthesis process by using the sunlight.

Seaweed grows naturally in the water, and you can also harvest it or your aquarium young fish. These are good for marine and tropical fish species.
